This course will require different study skills than some other courses do.

Study skills

  • Watch lectures/take notes/write out questions as you watch lectures and send them to me.
  • Know the level that he wants you to understand.
    • In can help to watch our language. If you speak like we speak, you’ve understood it.
    • Use the slides to assess mastery. Can you explain the slides to someone else? Why is he including this slide?
  • Weekly schedule is very important
    • Watch lecture; take notes; email questions to me

  • Before or after section, study the slides carefully -Can you explain the slides to someone else? Are there topics you aren’t understanding. Can you work through the examples from class starting with a blank sheet of paper? -Put key results on a formula sheet that you can use during the exams and for the homework. Possibly even put key examples from the slides on the formula sheet. -Manage your time so you can study the slides (see above) before you start the problem set
